Blue Mountain Hospital is a 501(c)3 not-for-profit organization established to construct and operate a 45,000 square foot Critical Access Hospital (“CAH”) in Blanding, Utah. Blue Mountain Hospital is a historic collaboration between two Native American Tribes, a Tribal Organization, and private enterprise to provide healthcare services to the diverse population of Four Corners region, which includes Utah, Colorado, Arizona, and New Mexico. The monumental partnership between the Navajo Nation, Ute Mountain Ute Tribe, Utah Navajo Health Systems and private parties lead to the incorporation of Blue Mountain Hospital in 2002 with the sole purpose of developing, building, and operating an 11-bed acute care facility. In addition, the partnership between the Navajo Nation and Ute Mountain Ute Tribe marks the first joint venture between the two tribes to provide healthcare to the diverse residents of the region regardless of race or tribal affiliation. The board of directors consists of six members, two of whom will be appointed by the Ute Mountain Ute Tribe, two by Utah Navajo Health Systems, and remaining two will be appointed by Razaghi Development Company and John A. Reeves, Jr. |
